 What is Argentine Tango: Argentine Tanog is an intensely passionate dance that will capture your feet and your soul. Your life will never be the same as you enter the nocturnal world of ochos, sentadas, and milongas. Enjoyable at any level, Tango becomes more physically and intellectually rewarding as your relationship with the Buenos Aires-born dance deepens.
Brief History: First appearing in the 1880's, tango has developed and grown into one of the most popular dances in the world. Now people can experience it's whole essence, it's melodramatic lyrics and movements in Buenos Aires and many other cultural centers in the world.
Far from the caricatured performances in Hollywood movies, real tango expresses the emotions and tells the story of the Argentine people. Tango songs and dances are a rich source of poetic history and tell their own stories about Argentina and Buenos Aires.
Who can join this class? This is an "Introductory level" class, so EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND! No experience required.
